You are trying to make a sports team and you

want to emulate someone who is very successful

in that sport i.e. Drew Brees, quarterback for

the New Orleans Saints. So you study him.

You study the way he prepares for a game – you

study how he reads the defense. You want to

be like him. We read about and study the saints

because they dedicated their lives to the Lord

and we strive to do the same with our lives.

The statues within our Church are there for

inspiration. They are our reminder of the rewards

given to those who live with Our Lord Jesus Christ

as the Center of our life.

        Did you know...

The First Commandment – I am the Lord,

thy God. You shall have no other gods before

me is often a challenge made to Catholics by our

Protestant friends who question the “worshiping”

        of images within our Church.

In the Church’s opinion, “the honor paid to

sacred images is a ‘respectful veneration’, not

the adoration and worship due to God alone”.

The Catechism, using very traditional arguments,

posits that God gave permission for images that

symbolize Christian salvation by leaving symbols

such as the bronze serpent, and the cherubim on

        the Ark of the Covenant.

Here are a couple of ways to share the Catholic

        view of venerating our saints:

        1)

Say you are applying for a job and you

know someone who is very well respected at

that company, so you call them and ask them

to” put in a good word for you,” hoping to

increase your chances of getting the job. We

pray to the saints and ask their intercession

        with our prayer, or

To schedule a meeting with Sister Dulce call:

            Appointments are available

            Closed on Fridays.

            Please remember that appointments

            are always required.

This Ministry is staffed solely with volunteer prayer partners and we ask

that you keep them in your prayers as they work with Sister Dulce.
